There are several reasons why you may need to change the food you feed your dog and we just wanted to reassure you that changing from your current brand to our Happy Dog food couldn’t be easier! Whichever brand you change from and to, a steady period of transition is essential to avoid upset stomachs and tummy troubles.
Advice:
Veterinary advice says that this should be undertaken in no less than 7 days and, whether you are changing for health benefits, costs, veterinary advice, dietary requirements or personal preference it is imperative that a gradual change should be done.
How to change:
Start by adding just a small amount of the new food in with the old one at just one of your dog’s meals on the first day. On the next day add in the same amount at another meal and then follow this procedure, gradually increasing the amount of the new food and decreasing the old one. This carefully managed procedure – tailored to your dog and its eating patterns and dietary requirements - will ensure a happy transition for you and your dog.
When to change:
Remember too that puppies become adults at different stages depending on the size of their breed. You should transfer them to ensure they are receiving proper nutrient levels for adult dogs, once again following the procedure as outlined above. Take a look at our feeding guides on the product pages.
Choosing the right diet:
To support the reason for transition we have a wide variety of food choices to support a change in diet. Sensitive tummies are catered for,
senior dogs,
small dogs, working dogs, those that require a
