Once your dog turns seven months old, it's time to switch him from puppy food to young dog food. Because your four-legged friend is now a lively teenager! He enters a development phase in which he grows more slowly than in the first six months of his life. That's why we developed our fit & vital Junior specifically as food for young dogs. It contains less energy than puppy food - and provides exactly the nutrients and minerals that a young dog needs for healthy growth from the seventh month. Our fit & vital Junior comes up with five animal proteins, including poultry and lamb. Gluten-free rice is easy to digest and gives you the energy to romp around. Calcium and vitamin D3 help in the healthy development of your dog's bones, ligaments, tendons and joints.
From the age of seven months, a puppy belongs to the young dogs. At this point you should transition him to a diet tailored to his development stage. Are you wondering what amount of food is recommended for young dogs? The correct amount of food is based on the final weight of your young dog and its age in months. You can find these in the feeding recommendation below. Also good to know: In contrast to puppyhood, when your little friend needed several meals a day, you can now switch him to 2 meals a day. His stomach is big enough now for this rhythm to suffice. As a rule of thumb, the daily total amount of food is about 4-6% of your dog's body weight.
Seen? Our croquettes are heart-shaped with a hole in the middle. This allows your dog to chew and digest the food better. The increased surface area also makes it easier for your dog's gastric juices to break down the food.
